L’Oreal Brandstorm kicks off campus drive at NUST
NUST team that represented Pakistan at Paris returns for an interactive session.
L’Oreal started visiting their partner universities for Brandstrom Campus Drives with a visit to NUST on Januray 1st. The purpose of the drive was to select eligible students & build teams for participation in the competition.
Brandstorm is a unique innovation competition hosted by the L’Oréal Group to allow students to unleash their creativity and showcase groundbreaking ideas. Since 1992, it has been the ultimate innovation competition and a great learning opportunity for students.
For 2018, the participants’ mission is to come up with innovations that “Invent the Professional Salon Experience of the Future “, for L’Oreal Professional Products. This year, the competition stands out as the challenge is for an entire division rather than a specific brand – more room to innovate!
The visit also included an interactive session with one of the winning teams from last year, comprised of NUST students. “A lot of my queries were answered without having to ask” said Ibrahim Kamal, who attended the event. Adding that the event was a good insight into the office culture at L’Oreal.
However, some participants expressed their reservations regarding this year’s Brandstorm. “The case study this year is very difficult for engineers” said another student Anique Anwar. “I think it’s aimed towards business and management people this year”.
Ever since the competition’s inception in Pakistan in 2013, students from top universities across Pakistan have been have been competing annually to represent the country at the international finals in Paris. The competition is open to all university students in their 3rd or 4th years of study and encourages students from diverse fields to team up for a more holistic approach to the challenge.This year, the L’Oreal Pakistan team aims to achieve new heights by breaking its 2017 success rate of 1500+ participators and 400+ teams!
Winners of the competition represent Pakistan on a global platform in Paris and are eligible for a grand prize of up to 30,000 Euros!
L’Oreal will be hosting Brandstrom Campus Drives at IBA on January 24th and LUMS on February 6th.
