What to Look Forward to at the NUST Olympiad’17
ISLAMABAD: NUST Olympiad is ready to make a comeback for 2017. It is scheduled to kick-off on the 6th of April and will go on till the 9th. The annual event has a legacy of being one the biggest the university hosts and is expected to be better than ever this year.
The Olympiad will host four days of a variety of competitions in the mornings and social events in the evenings. The 40+ competitions range from sports to adventure, arts to dramatics and from literature to athletics.
Every year thousands of people, from around the country, come to the university to be a part of the NUST Olympiad experience, with the event providing both on-campus and off-campus accommodations to its participants.
“The event promises to provide a prominent platform to students from all across the country, in order to exhibit their talents and showcase their skills,” said Jamal Abdullah Abbasi, the convener of the event.
Apart from the exciting contests in store, many are looking forward to the social events more than everything else.
After all the hubbub of day one, the first social event of the Olympiad gives participants a chance to fancy up and enjoy an elegant theme dinner.
The second day of the Olympiad is scheduled to kick-start with a cultural themed carnival on the first night, along with a thrilling musical performance by the Coke Studio star Asrar. Not only that, but the carnival will also feature DJ Toshi’s music mixes.
Day three will feature an opening performance by Ibrahim Umer, followed by a much anticipated fusion of pop and rock with the legendary Ali Azmat and Roxen live in concert.
Finally, on the fourth day, participants can kick-back and relax at the closing ceremony where the winners will receive their prizes.
With sponsors like UBL and CSD, NUST Olympiad 2017 is expected to be the biggest one yet. All in all, the captivating campus life of NUST, the engrossing competitions and the exhilarating social events, NUST Olympiad is going to be the experience of a lifetime.
