Should Boys Learn to Cook?
The eternal question – should boys learn to cook?
I certainly think so.
There is a universal stereotype that cooking is just not a guy’s thing; apparently they are too ‘cool’ or ‘manly’ to indulge in such an activity.
However, I believe that boys should learn the art of cooking – how else can they ensure that their taste buds are getting precisely what they prefer?
Just ask yourself this. Don’t you feel independent mixing up a few things together in the kitchen yourself when there is no one else to cook for you? It is, by no means, a ‘shameful’ skill for a boy to develop. There is, after all, never any harm in learning new things.
Cooking is basically a form of art. As an added bonus, if you are a guy who can cook, imagine how impressed your girl will be if you whip her up a special, romantic dinner (not to mention how it would also be lighter on your pockets).
Research has also proven that cooking is an incredible therapy for times when you’re feeling stressed. It focuses your mind on the task at hand, prevents your anxiety from expressing itself in ugly ways, encourages creativity, and eventually provides immense satisfaction upon completion.
I also want to direct attention to how processed foods are the devil’s cuisine. Recently, a new report emerged that the chemicals added to make food long-lasting are actually addictive and increase the amount of fat in your body. This is all the more reason to learn how to cook, and provide yourself and your loved ones with healthy meals for a better future.
So why are you still lying lazily on the couch? Buckle up, go to the kitchen and bring your inner chef out!
