Stan Lee (1922-2018)

Last night, the Pop-Culture Icon and Creator of Marvel Comics, Stan Lee passed away at the age of 95. You would’ve probably heard about Stan Lee through his ever-realistic superheroes, and you would’ve probably seen him on the big screen with his countless quirky cameos in the Marvel cinematic universe Lee was the co-creator of some of the comic-book worlds pioneering superheroes such as Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Daredevil and the X-Men. All of these complex creations merged together to create the colorful Marvel Universe as we know it today. At its peak, Marvel comics sold 50 million copies a year, while today, Marvel adaptations have made millions at the box office. Lee retired from Marvel in 1971, but he had changed the face of comic book writing for good, earning himself and his creations cult status. Speaking to Reuters his daughter J.C. Lee said, “He felt an Obligation to his fans to keep creating.” “He loved his life and he loved what he did for a living. His family loved him, and his fans loved him. He was irreplaceable.” Several stars who have worked in live-action adaptations of Lee’s superheroes have joined together to pay tribute to the Legend after hearing about his passing.
